Can it be 7 years ago that Atari Pilot’s brilliant album Navigation of the World by Sound was unleashed on to a fairly unsuspecting public? Having grown from a collection of solo demos from the pen of Andy Onslow into a rich and full studio project, an album, then a complete band and a string of great shows, sadly life got in the way and the potential of the music was temporarily put on hold.
Well, Atari Pilot is back, and the first set of the new era can be found at the Shuffle. Tentatively dipping sonic toes into musical waters with a laid back, acoustic set, Andy will be reminding us just how great those songs were and indeed still are, no matter what form they take, from big stadium sounds to chilled acoustic set.
Atari Pilot can be found opening the session at The Tuppenny on Thursday July 12th ahead of Tamsin Quin and Canute’s Plastic Army. What a great way to open this year's proceedings.
